How To

Write A Specification

We've developed a number of specifications written to CSI format to help ensure that you receive the carpet and service you want. We've taken care of the details and fine print so you can just attach these to your project specifications.

Carpet Specifications

The specifications provided are generic carpet specifications for loop pile carpets to help you as you specify your project. Industry test methods and desired performance ratings are included in the specs because they are the best way to ensure your carpet performance requirements will be met.

Carpet specification for heavy traffic, where frequent spills and stains are a primary maintenance concern:

Loop Pile Broadloom Specification

Loop Pile Tile Specification

These specifications while written in generic language, will secure a specification of Antron Lumena® solution dyed nylon.

Carpet specification for heavy traffic, where dry soiling is the primary maintenance concern:

Loop Pile Broadloom Specification

Loop Pile Tile Specification

These specifications while written in generic language, will secure a specification of Antron® Legacy nylon or Antron® Brilliance™ nylon.

Carpet specification for outstanding stain resistance, soil resistance and appearance retention:

Loop Pile Broadloom Specification

Loop Pile Tile Specification

These specifications while written in generic language, will secure a specification of Antron with StainRESIST™ fiber technology.

Carpet specification where budget constraints are a reality but performance and stain resistance are necessary:

Loop Pile Broadloom Specification

This specification, while written in generic language, will secure a specification of DSDN® solution dyed nylon.

Green Specifications

Flooring specifications can play a significant role in helping the environment, both by specifying a carpet with a lower Total Environmental Impact, and by reclaiming used carpet at the end of its useful life. Below are specifications for carpet and reclamation to ensure you are making an environmentally responsible decision.

Green Carpet Specifications

The specifications provided are generic green carpet specifications for loop pile carpets to help you as you specify your project. Industry test methods and desired performance ratings are included in the specs because they are the best way to ensure your carpet performance requirements will be met.

Antron® Legacy nylon and Antron® Brilliance™ nylon- for a green carpet specification when soiling is a consideration and the flexibility of a white dyeable fiber is needed.

Antron Lumena® solution dyed nylon - for a green carpet specification when staining, soiling and colorfastness is a consideration.

Antron with StainRESIST™ fiber technology - for a green carpet specification when staining and soiling are considerations and the flexibility of a white dyeable fiber is needed.

Carpet Reclamation

Flooring specifications can play a significant role in helping the environment. The INVISTA™ Reclamation specification is a tool that makes it easy to include commercial carpet reclamation in your project spec.

Carpet Reclamation Short Form - for abbreviated project specifications.
